Welcome to Mountain Grove Baptist Church

Mountain Grove Baptist Church is a living New Testament church of people who have received Jesus Christ by faith. 


Our ministry centers on the biblical function of the local church, including:

  •  Ministry of the Word of God
  • Administration of the ordinances (Baptism and the Lord's Supper), 
  • Prayer
  • Fellowship.


 Join us for traditional worship, biblical messages, and encouraging fellowship.


We are currently a small gathering, but we seek to make a difference for Christ in the Alert community.  If you're not actively involved in a local church, we invite you to come and see us!

  

Mountain Grove Baptist Church is in fellowship with the Raleigh Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of NC, and the Southern Baptist Convention for the purpose of sharing God's love and the Good News of Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of people in His name.

Pastor - Mark Harrison

Mark Harrison came to Mountain Grove in February 2024 and shortly thereafter was called to be  our Pastor.  Mark has eleven years (plus) of pastoral experience along with many years of serving as pulpit supply in the Wake Forest area.  His formal biblical training came by way of Moody Bible Institue (Chicago) in their external studies program.  Mark has been married to his wife, Diane, for 39 years.

Tour of the Bible Class

Would you like to learn the Bible from beginning to end?  If so, our Tour of the Bible Sunday School Class is for you!  This class looks at the Bible as a whole and concentrates on major doctrines and themes in God's redemptive plan throughout history.  Seeing Jesus in the Old and New Testaments is a major focus.  The class meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 am.

History of Baptistry Painting

This painting, which has been prominently displayed behind our baptistry for more than 50 years, was painted by Mr. Jesse Crutchfield of Wake Forest, NC.  Mr. Crutchfield painted similar scenes in other churches in the region.
